Overview

how clean air hockey table : Overview :
Air hockey is a fun game, but the fun can come to a halt quickly if the table is too dirty to provide a smooth gliding surface. Routine maintenance is important, and spills and stains should be addressed quickly using the methods described below.

Routine Maintenance

Step 1

Use a hand-held portable vacuum cleaner or the fabric brush and hose attachments of an upright vacuum cleaner to suck up as much dust as possible from the table's surface.

Step 2

Soak a paper towel and wring out the excess water. Use the damp paper towel to wipe down any dust or dirt on the surface. Switch to fresh paper towels whenever the one you're using gets too dirty.

Step 3

Wipe all dampened surfaces dry with a soft, dry, clean cloth.

Step 4

Cover the table with a fitted air hockey table cover or tarp when not in use.

Cleaning Sticky Stains

Step 1

Tear off small pieces of masking tape and use them to cover any air holes near the sticky stain.

Step 2

Pour a few drops of adhesive removing solvent on the stain.

Step 3

Rub the stain vigorously with the corner of a paper towel, being careful not to peel away any of the masking tape.

Step 4

Wipe up all the excess solvent with a clean, dry paper towel.

Step 5

Remove the pieces of tape.

Step 6

Soak a paper towel and wring out the excess water. Use the damp paper towel to wipe down the entire area where the stain and tape pieces were.

Step 7

Buff the area dry with a clean, soft, dry cloth.

Cleaning Clogged Holes

Step 1

Dip the end of a pipe cleaner in rubbing alcohol.

Step 2

Lightly dab the end of the pipe cleaner dry with a paper towel.

Step 3

Poke the damp end of the pipe cleaner through a clogged hole. Vigorously pull the pipe cleaner back and forth to full clear the hole.

Step 4

Wipe any dirt or dust off the pipe cleaner.

Step 5

Repeat steps one through four for every clogged hole.

Step 6

Buff the area dry with a clean, soft, dry cloth.

TIPS AND WARNINGS

  • TIP : Always keep a cover over the air hockey table when it's not in use so that it doesn't collect dust. Don't keep drinks on the edges or surfaces of air hockey tables.
