Overview
While the baseball cap has become de rigeur for American adults and teenagers alike--and can be worn frontwards, backwards, to the side, tipped up or pulled down (depending on the message that you wish to send)--it is still a component of the baseball uniform. As a piece of the standard uniform for all baseball players, it absolutely may not be worn backwards, to the side, tipped up, or pulled down; here is a guide to how it may be worn in an "official" context.
Step 1
Stand facing the mirror in a well lit area.
Step 2
Facing the mirror, position the baseball cap on the crown of your head.
Step 3
With one hand, grip the bill of the baseball cap. Tug the cap down so that the bill of the cap faces away from you at a 90-degree angle.
Step 4
The baseball cap should sit just above the ears, and the bill should be at a level that allows you both visual clearance and protection from direct sunlight. That may interfere with your vision.
Step 5
The relationship of your hair to the baseball cap (like whether you prefer your bangs poking out from beneath the brim or pushed back and under the dome of the hat) is a matter of personal preference.
TIPS AND WARNINGS
- WARNING : For professional play, caps are not to be worn backwards, to the side, pulled excessively low, or tipped dramatically up.
