MLB Opening Week Awards
With one week under its belt, Major League Baseball has proven, once again, that Albert Pujols is the most consistent player in baseball, and Roy Halladay gets you wins. Other than that, it's hard to predict what's going to happen. But, as many wise men have said: That's why they play the games...

Without further intros, here are my Opening Week Awards!

Player Who Provides the Most False Hope Through His Ability to Get Red Hot: Alfonso Soriano

Most Unsurprising Injury: Milton Bradley

Most Unsurprising Run Producers: Albert Pujols and Evan Longoria

Player Who Fantasy Managers Scrambled to Pick Up After Opening Day: Emilio Bonifacio

Player Who Fantasy Managers Scrambled to Drop After Opening Day:  Jason Motte

Player Who Looks Poised for a Breakout Season: Adam Lind

Player Who Looks Like He's on His Last Legs: Hideki Matsui

Closer You Wish Your Team Had: Joakim Soria

Looks Like He's Healed Division:
Travis Hafner, Chris Carpenter

Person Most Eagerly Awaiting A-Rod's Return: Cody Ransom

Team That Looks Re-Energized: Atlanta Braves

Team That Looks Lost: Houston Astros

All in all, the quality of games in the first week was fantastic. Off the field, however, there was tragedy, and it's at this point that I ask every baseball fan or human being reading this to remember Nick Adenhart, Courtney Francis Stewart and Henry Pearson. Adenhart was just beginning his MLB career, and he and his companions were all far too young to go.

Also passing away from the world of baseball:
Mark "The Bird" Fidrych and Harry Kalas
