This actually saddened me quite a bit. I've always liked Manny thought that maybe, because his mechanics were so good, that he really did it all on his own. Baseball continues to just get more frustrating with every revelation...

Pujol's name gets thrown around a lot when people pose this question simply because he is big and good. I just have a hard time believing that though. While I am certainly no fan of the Cards, I can't help but be impressed by him. He's been extremely consistent throughout his career and one has to believe it's still possible for someone to be that good at baseball without the use of PEDs. If not, then baseball is forever tarnished.

The bigger story to me about this is the reaction. While the Manny thing has garnered a lot of attention, both this situation and Arod's seem to be relatively accepted at this point. I imagine most people's thoughts were "That's about right". Contrast that with Bonds and many of the big names on the Mitchell Report. It seems that with each subsequent revelation we become a little more desensitized. Granted, the aforementioned examples were under much different circumstances, and perhaps the newness of it all contributed to the mass outrage, but still, people just don't seem that phased by this kind of thing anymore. It's not a good trend.

I'm not surprised. It's very sad how so many of these role models can be making such poor choices. Who are we supposed to believe in? You know...besides the doctors, research scientists, and Batman.
