The Lakers Could Lose...to the Rockets or Nuggets.

It's a good night. I'm about to play Starcraft on my new laptop, watching NBA playoff basketball on the TV while also watching my alma mater (UT) take on rival Texas A&M in baseball. **update, Texas wins in extra innings! Gig that, Aggies.**
I'm sitting in my living room, it's half time of game 3 Lakers vs Rockets and I'm loving the fact that the Lakers really could lose. Obviously, I'm not a huge fan of the LA Lakers. They are the Yankees of the NBA, if you're not with them you're against them. Duke also gets in on that list.
Moving on. I listened to podcasts, read articles, listened to the radio, watched analysts and talking heads say one thing over and over: The western conference race should be fun, but all it's about is seeing who is going to lose to the Lakers. Au Contraire, apparently more teams in the west are willing to stand up to the Lakers than just the Spurs (and good thing too since they weren't a threat this year with you know who injured). IF the Lakers get past the Apollo 13s (too soon?), I'm not so confident anymore that LA will be the best team in the conference finals. The Nug's have been rolling, almost as good as the freaking Cavaliers! Let's compare these two:
Nug's beat NO and are going to beat Dallas. They've been doing so by a 20 point margin on average according to ESPN (not to mention that 50+ blowout against the NO Quitters).
Cav's steam-rolled the shell that is Detroit and look to do the same to Atlanta. Now I'm too lazy to do this, but which team has been rolling the better opponent? In a comparison just now on ESPN, the margin of victory, and defensive stats are eerily similar for the Nugs and Cavs, with Cav looking a little better on defense. Could these be the two best teams in the NBA on a collision course? Is it possible? A George Karl coached team? If the Nug's do go to the finals, what does this do for Billups' value?
Let the debates begin.
